This year's event will include the Inaugural Portland Marathon HALF, resulting in an additional 3,000 participants... and the need for even more volunteers. Individuals, as well as teams are welcomed-the more the merrier! Teams representing non-profit organizations have the opportunity to receive a donation through our Going The Distance Foundation and The Portland Marathon Direct Giving program for the benefit of the non-profit.

Special note:

Potential changes to volunteer locations and shift times for Course Monitor and Aid Station positions.
Several ongoing major construction projects in Portland have resulted in some parts of our course being unavailable for 2010. To ensure a safe and certified course, we are in negotiations with agencies of the State of Oregon, TriMet, the Portland Police Bureau and other Bureaus of the City of Portland for the use of alternate streets for the parts of the course in question. Depending on the outcome, there may be changes in locations and shift times and even the number of course monitor and aid station volunteer positions. Check our website for notifications and updates on this process.
